Successful 2nd Quarterly General Membership Meeting
A huge THANK YOU to our guest speaker, retired Circuit Court Judge Frank L. McGuire, III. Judge McGuire who presented the first half of his Two-Part discussion on the life of William Weatherford / Red Eagle, from birth, until his surrender to Jackson shortly after the Creek defeat at Horseshoe Bend. This was a joint meeting of the Autauga Genealogy Society and ACHA .

We also want to say a huge THANK YOU to the Autagi Dar and Peggy Crum, President of the Autagi DAR, who presented a check to ACHA in honor of Margaret Surles. Barbara Russell was present along with Margaret’s daughter,  Ann Cooper. Russell & Cooper are also members of the Autagi Chapter of DAR.

Margaret Surles was a charter member of the Autagi chapter of the DAR. Last year the chapter recognized her for having the most volunteer hours for the year. She obtained those hours by volunteering with the DP/CGC Preservation Project at Hancock Bank. The donation to BV was given in memory of Margaret & her service to the DAR & community.
